Biography
Robyn A. Horton is Of Counsel with the Firm in the Transactional, Litigation/Dispute Resolution and Cannabis Law Practice Groups. She concentrates her practice in business and civil litigation support, real estate and commercial transactions, administrative law, and appellate practice, as well as asset protection planning, health and disability law, and civil rights and discrimination. Her passion is found in legal research and writing in a multitude of areas for cases in both state and Federal courts.

Ms. Horton is a member of the Missouri Bar Association where she has authored and presented educational programs on numerous Public Benefits topics. She served as an adjunct professor at Southwest Baptist University where she instructed students in Health Services Law. She and her husband, Christiaan, have three children and two spoiled Terriers.

NOTABLE REPRESENTATION
Ms. Horton began her career as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Phillip R. Garrison at the Missouri Court of Appeals where she was trained in appellate practice. She then became a Staff Attorney with Legal Services of Southern Missouri practicing in the areas of Public Benefits, Health and Disability law for twenty years. Ms. Horton successfully represented hundreds of low-income, disabled and elderly clients in administrative appeals advocating for Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security Disability benefits on their behalf. She also chaired various state-wide task forces to secure and expand public benefits for Missouri’s most vulnerable citizens. Through a collaborative effort led by Legal Services attorneys during her tenure, Medicaid coverage was expanded to include adult incontinence briefs through affirmative litigation in Hiltibran v. Levy, highlighted in the Clearinghouse Review Journal of Poverty Law & Policy, Volume 45 (March 2012). Her work was integral in laying the administrative appellate groundwork with the lead plaintiff, ultimately changing Missouri law and bringing financial relief to many disabled residents.
