Jeff Krakow Celebrates 20 Years of Service

Carnahan Evans proudly recognizes Jeff Krakow for 20 years of dedicated service! Jeff is an essential member of our file maintenance team, and we appreciate his continued commitment and hard work.
Jeff was hired as a runner in 2006 and, in 2009, joined the firm full-time as a File Clerk. It didn’t take long to realize that the processes of creating and maintaining active files for a building full of staff and attorneys require a tremendous amount of effort, and the similarities to his background in Library Science were too great to ignore. Archiving the countless files at Carnahan Evans became easier with time, though scavenger hunts in various offices would be much simpler with checkout cards and late fees. In 2015, Jeff took over management of John Carnahan’s filing, which made him smile as he recalled that John did not know his name for at least a year and a half back in 2006.
Jeff’s working life includes a background in libraries, as a seasonal Ranger for the National Park Service, a lithographer’s assistant, a grocer’s stockboy, time as a barista and café worker, making stained-glass windows, freelance journalism, and as a Composition instructor at the university and college level. None of those roles lasted as long as his position here, though all of them come into play almost daily. Fortunately, the days of grading papers are in the past.
Jeff has made good friends at Carnahan Evans, some of whom he considers family. He looks forward to each day to bantering with staff and attorneys alike, especially their interesting mix of personalities and perspectives. Away from the office, he enjoys discovering new music, films, and books, while every October means working with a crew of 700,000 enthusiasts at Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. A week each spring in the Colorado Rockies means pure relaxation, then it’s back to work to learn what he missed while away.
We proudly celebrate Jeff and sincerely thank him for his dedication and loyal service to the Firm.
