John M. Carnahan III of CECB Is Appointed to the University of Missouri Board of Curators

Springfield, Mo. – February 3, 2005: John M. Carnahan III, a shareholder and founder of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown, P.C. (“CECB”), has been confirmed by the Missouri Senate to serve on the University of Missouri Board of Curators. The Senate confirmation follows Governor Matt Blunt’s nomination of Mr. Carnahan on January 25, 2005. Mr. Carnahan will serve a six-year term on the University of Missouri Board of Curators, representing the seventh congressional district. The Board of Curators is a nine-person governing body of a four-campus system including the University of Missouri-Columbia, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the University of Missouri-Rolla, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Mr. Carnahan practices law in the areas of tax planning, corporate law, transactions, business succession planning, and chartering and planning of financial institutions. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Southwest Missouri State University (1971) and obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri (cum laude) in 1974. In 1975, Mr. Carnahan received his Masters of Law degree in Taxation from the University of Miami.
Mr. Carnahan is an active member of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation, and has been recognized as a member of the American College of Tax Counsel, and Fellow of the American Bar and Missouri Bar Foundations.
